What Can I Do With Herbs After Vaping Them?

Enjoying your herbs with a dry herb vaporizer – rather than smoking those herbs – has a great many benefits. The elimination of carbon monoxide is certainly among the most prominent of those benefits, but it’s far from the only one. Reading this article, you’re going to discover another major benefit of dry herb vaping: It allows you to use the same herbs twice!

You read that right. If you’re dumping your vaped herbs in the trash, you’re missing out on something that’s likely to become your new favorite benefit of dry herb vaping. Dry herb vaping allows you to enjoy every dose of herbs a second time. After reading this article, you’ll never want to throw your vaped herbs away again. Let’s learn more.

Why Save Your Vaped Herbs?

Although dry herb vaporizers are incredibly efficient in extracting the beneficial compounds from herbs, It isn’t possible to extract 100 percent of those compounds via vaping alone. There’s always going to be something left in the herbs – especially if you prefer to use lower temperature settings on your vaporizer.

The best part is that when you remove the used herbs from your vaporizer, you’ll have herbs in which the beneficial compounds are already activated and made bioavailable through decarboxylation. If you wanted to, you could experience the full extent of the compounds remaining in your vaped herbs simply by ingesting those herbs straight out of your vaporizer. In this article, though, we’re going to get a little more creative than that.

You’re about to learn some of the most popular techniques for getting the most out of herbs that have already been vaped. Although you can simply swallow the vaped herbs directly, you may not enjoy the flavor of a dry herb that’s already been toasted to a crisp in your vaporizer. These ideas for using your vaped herbs, therefore, will focus on techniques for masking those undesirable grassy and herbal notes.

Note that when you eat your herbs, the effects of the compounds in those herbs will set in much more slowly than they do in vaping. It may take your digestive system up to two hours to metabolize those compounds. The effects will peak and fade away over the course of several hours. Start by eating just a little of your herbs at a time. If you’re not happy with the effects, allow several hours before eating more.

Milkshake for Vaped Herbs

Nothing covers an undesirable flavor quite as well as sugar, and that’s why many people around the world greatly enjoy making milkshakes with their vaped herbs. To make a vaped herb milkshake, simply combine some herbs, ice cream and milk in a blender. Many people think that using chocolate ice cream is an excellent way to minimize the undesirable flavors of vaped herbs.

Herb Firecracker

Members of the dry herb vaping community have advocated the consumption of vaped herbs for years. They’ve come up with a number of great ideas, and the firecracker is probably the most famous of them. To make an herb firecracker, grab a graham cracker and preheat your oven. Put some hazelnut spread on the graham cracker and sprinkle some of your vaped herbs on top. Put the firecracker in the oven and remove it when the hazelnut spread just begins to soften and melt.

Vaped Herb Butter

If you find that you don’t enjoy the flavor when eating your vaped herbs directly, you can use butter or coconut oil to draw the compounds out of those herbs. Combine the herbs with some butter and water in a saucepan and heat the mixture gently for 45 minutes. Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth into a heat-proof bowl. Store the bowl in your refrigerator overnight. When you open the refrigerator in the morning, you’ll find a solid puck of butter floating on top of the water. Pry the puck loose and store it in an airtight container. You can use the butter at room temperature – by spreading it on bread, for instance – or you can cook with it. Remember, though, that high-temperature cooking will vaporize the beneficial compounds in the butter. If you’re not sure what to do with your butter, try making brownies. The chocolate obscures the undesirable herb flavors. Since brownie recipes call for low-temperature baking, you can make them without worrying that you’ll lose the beneficial compounds in the herbs.

Vaped Herb Tincture

If you’d like a lower-calorie method for extracting the beneficial compounds from your herbs, make a tincture. You’ll need a mason jar and a high-proof alcohol such as Everclear. Mix the alcohol and herbs in the jar. Close the jar tightly and give it a vigorous shake. Store the jar in your freezer for at least two days, shaking it several times each day. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth and store it in an amber glass bottle with a dropper. Use the tincture by placing a dropper under your tongue for several seconds before swallowing it.

Vaped Herb Capsules

If you want to get the most out of your vaped herbs but can’t tolerate the flavor, try swallowing the herbs in capsules instead. Buy some empty cellulose capsules and a capping machine from your local pharmacy. Start with the smallest available capsule size until you gauge the effects of the capsules. Making capsules from your vaped herbs has two benefits. The first is that, as mentioned, packaging your herbs in capsules allows you to swallow the herbs without tasting them. The second benefit is that, if you use a consistent capsule size and fill the capsules completely, you’ll never have to worry about inconsistent dosing because every finished capsule will be identical.

Vaped Herb Compost

Eating or swallowing vaped herbs isn’t for everyone. You might try the ideas in this article and decide that you either don’t care for the flavor or simply don’t enjoy consuming your herbs in any way other than by vaping. If that’s the case, you still don’t need to throw your vaped herbs away. Add them to your compost heap instead! Your vaped herbs are full of vital nutrients that can help your garden flourish.
