Sometime in 2013/2014, Custard became one of the most sought after flavours in the e-liquid industry. This could simply be attributed to custard being a nice flavour, but part of me has to wonder if it had anything to do with the relative inaccessibility. There were some scares in the industry in regards to diacetyl which was commonly present in a concentrate that had a buttery flavour such as custards and some creams. Although we know a lot more about diacetyl now than we did back then, it’s still to this day something that some vapers avoid. Part of me wonders if custards were so popular because it was so difficult at that time to find a flavour that was free of diacetyl.
Looking at the industry today, custards are still quite popular. If you’re a custard fan, here a few flavours you should try.
High VG Free Based Nicotine
Most custard flavours get paired up with something else, but “Créme de la Créme” from LOUD lets a traditional vanilla custard stand out as the star of the show. If you’re a mixer, this is the perfect juice to match up with any of your favourite fruits.
“Good Ol’ Whip” by Big Bottle Co is a fantastic choice for the price conscious with a vanilla custard with just a touch of cinnamon sugar and nut.
Japello’s brings two great custard options to the table and at a price that is very financially responsible. “Scotty” is a Peanut Butter and Butterscotch Custard. “Blue Velvet” takes the famous Blue Raspberry and mixes it with a velvety smooth custard.
For a lighter flavour, try out a honeydew and vanilla custard in “Witches Circle” by Santeria from Mexico. How about a physically lighter option with the distinctively recognizable vanilla wafer tea biscuits with custard, whipped cream and sugar in “Golden Crunch” by Crunchies from the UK?
Canadian lovers should look no further than “Canada Eh?” by Cloud Haven. Canadian created and manufactured, this maple syrup with custard and vanilla creams is about as Canadian as e-liquid gets.
50/50 Salt Nicotine
Something definitely more refined is “Aged Perfection”. This is a creamy custard pudding with the sweet and savoury flavour of the finest bourbon Canada has to offer. This Alberta flavour is also available in both freebase and salt nicotine.
Try also a dessert style tobacco with vanilla custard and sweet caramel. Made in Quebec, it’s a fine tobacco that is a little sweet.
Last, but certainly not least, check out “Climax” by Quest for a Strawberry Custard with hints of vanilla and marshmallow. Another product of Canada and is available in both freebase and salt.
Even with the stigma around certain chemicals used to make custards, the flavours are still quite prevalent in the market today. Many alternatives have been found since those days so it’s certainly not popular to see diacetyl used anymore. The ones who do use it are obligated to disclose exactly that. So purchase with confidence if you are custard fan and check out our other options here (https://www.truenorthvapor.com/search?q=custard).
